The Positive Caesarean Birth Workshop

In the UK, around 16% of births are by planned caesarean* (sometimes called elective caesarean).

There are several reasons you may need a planned caesarean including a low-lying placenta, baby’s position in the womb or underlying health issues that mean it’s safer for you to give birth this way. If a planned caesarean is deemed the best course of action, it can bring up a range of emotions, especially if you’ve envisaged a low-intervention birth. You may feel your options have been limited, preventing you from having the birth you hoped for.

During this private workshop, we’ll challenge this perception and focus on creating a positive caesarean birth experience that’s unique to you. I’ll guide you through your options, show you how to prepare and help you write your birth plan. You’ll be able to ask questions throughout, enabling you to make informed, evidence-based decisions. By the end of the session, you’ll feel confident and ready to embrace your upcoming caesarean birth.

Who it’s for

As well as first time parents, this workshop is suitable for those who have had a previous traumatic caesarean birth or anyone who wishes to do things differently as they prepare to welcome another baby via caesarean.
